Unable to take RDP of Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2, After changing hostname / Change in Domain name.

Impact : Unable to take RDP.

Resolution :

1. On remote computer, Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys

Rename Machinekeys to MachineKeys-OLD on remote computer (Use DRAC / ILO / VMware Console for access)

2 – Stop and Restart the Remote Desktop Service service

3 – Now try to access the RDP.

    Enabling “Health Key and Certificate Management” service helped me to solve this problem. This service is enabled by default, but I’ve disable it before changing computer name.
